In an ideal situation a toilet cubicle door which is used by the elderly, infirm or disabled should be outward-opening, away from the cubicle area, allowing safe emergency access in the event of the occupant collapsing behind the door. When the building design does not allow for this, these fittings are a useful alternative. The pivot set is used instead of hinges, fitted without a frame stop which means the door can swing both ways. The release stop is fitted instead of a frame stop, it acts as a stop and in normal use will only allow the door to swing one way, just as a normal timber stop. However this stop has a fingertip release for emergency situations where the door needs to swing out of the cubicle. The 2 way striking plates allow doors to be opened in two directions without damage to doors or frames; the bolt cut-outs are 30 x 15mm.
•Shopfitters often fit the 80kg pivot set on changing area doors, additionally fitting a roller catch and a pair of back to back pull handles to operate. •The 2 way striking plates allow doors to be opened in two directions without damage to door or frames; the bolt cut outs are 30 x 15mm
